Nadezhda Petrova: Giorgi didn’t give me any rhythm

Russian tennis star Nadezhda Petrova paid tribute to her opponent in the opening round clash of Regions Morgan Keegan Championship, Camila Giorgi, after losing straight sets 6-4, 6-2 to the 20-year-old Italian.

«She didn’t give me any rhythm. She was playing very aggressive. Clearly she wanted to play two-stroke rallies, hard through the middle and put it away. So it was really difficult for me to get into the match. She produced very good tennis today and I thought at some point maybe she would have trouble closing it out, but she stayed solid throughout the whole match,» the world number 32 admitted.
