Nadezhda Petrova: I was not ready for the match against Suarez Navarro

Russian tennis player Nadezhda Petrova admitted she was not prepared for her Fed Cup game against Spain’s Carla Suarez Navarro, which she lost 0:6, 3:6.

«I just wasn’t ready for it. I only found out that I will play today two hours before the game and hardly had time to prepare. My head wasn’t in the right place and I couldn’t get into the rhythm. Even though our coach Tarpischev tried to help, I had no tactical plan for the match,» Petrova told Sport-Express.

She added that the decision to let her face the Spaniard was made after Yekaterina Makarova and Maria Sharapova dropped out, through a wrist injury and a fever, respectively.
