Djokovic beats Nadal in an epic five-set Australian Open final
Serb Novak Djokovic edged Rafael Nadal in an epic near six-hour long final of men’s Australian Open to become the fifth tennis player in history to win three Grand Slam tournaments in a row.
The world number one came out on top in a gripping battle with the second seed, winning 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 7-5 after five hours and 53 minutes.
It was the longest final in Grand Slam history, finishing at 01:37 local time.
