Andrey Vasilevsky: I will think about NHL draft after the World Cup

Tolpar’s Russian junior goaltender Andrey Vasilevsky claimed he does not intend to move to another club in the near future and wants to break into the Ufa team.

«You didn’t get a chance to play for the Ufa’s main club [Salavat Yulaev – Sports.ru], despite the change in management. Do you hope it will happen next season?»

«I do hope it will and will be surprised, if it doesn’t. Admittedly, there is a lot of competition for my position, so playing even half a period would be a start.»

«You’ve played a few games against North American sides over the last couple of seasons. Would you be interested in joining an affiliate club?»

«There’s been a lot of false reports about me allegedly agreeing to move abroad recently. But the truth is, I have two years remaining on my current deal with Salavat, and I am not going anywhere. Having said that, I would like to try myself in a foreign league one day, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves.»

«What if you are picked for this June’s NHL draft?»

«At the moment I am focussing on the World Cup, but after that I will have time to consider the NHL future,» the teen prospect told Allhockey.ru.
