Bykov in talks with new CSKA owners, club president Fetisov opposes possible appointment
Former Russia and Salavat Yulaev head coach Vyacheslav Bykov is expected to arrive in Moscow one of these days for some three weeks, according to Sport-Express. Bykov will reportedly meet the representatives of Rosneft, who have become the new main sponsor of the KHL club CSKA Moscow, and discuss his possible appointment as head coach.
If negotiations are successful, the changes in the coaching staff of the Red Army club could be announced before the New Year. However, Bykov may be offered another position for the ongoing 2011/12 season.
Bykov was in charge of CSKA from 2004 to 2009, after which he left for the wealthy Salavat Yulaev whom he made the KHL champions.
However, the club’s president Vyacheslav Fetisov has spoken against the possible move, saying Bykov won’t be accepted at CSKA after he betrayed the club leaving it ‘in search of bigger money’.
