Ilya Bryzgalov: Flyers go for the Stanley Cup

The Philadelphia Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov spoke about his first match of the NHL regular championship against the Boston Bruins (2:1) and the team’s objectives for the season.

«There was no particular excitement. After all it’s not my first season. We didn’t prepare ourselves in any particular way for the reigning champions. We came here to play and win – nothing more specific than that. But it turned out that we won today, we played very well, I think we deserved the victory.

«There were some good saves, it’s hard to single out the best one. I remember some in the second period, and in the third one Kimmo Timonen saved us, keeping the puck from entering the goal.

«The Flyers always had their own style, and the players are picked to fit this style. What are our objectives? Competing for the Stanley Cup, playing well, getting better. We go for the Cup. And my goals are same as the team’s goals. What did I plan? Christmas, Turkey Day», Bryzgalov said in an interview with the Russian version the NHL official site.
