Roman Pavlyuchenko: When I saw faces of Birmingham players after the game, I felt really sorry for them
Tottenham forward Roman Pavlyuchenko has told about his impressions from the last game of the season in the English Premier League against Birmingham City, where he score the two winning goals that defined the opponents’ relegation.
«How does it feel like to be a grave digger of another club?»
«Not so pleasant, to say the truth. But, well, we had our own objectives and we couldn’t afford to drop points in this game, because we risked even losing the fifth place. During the game I’ve been doing my job without feeling any pity for the opponent, but after the end of the game, when I saw the faces of Birmingham players, I felt really sorry for them.»
«Did you like your goals?»
«They were quite OK. With the second one, however, I was a bit lucky due to a deflection.»
«Had you expected to be on the pitch at all?»
«I had been thinking I would go out for 15-20 minutes, but then Peter Crouch got injured and I substituted him in the first half already,» stated Pavlyuchenko according to Sport-Express.
