Roberto Carlos: I don’t blame Zenit, every city has at least one fame-wanting idiot

Anzhi’s Brazilian defender Roberto Carlos has given his opinion on the incident that had happened during their match against Zenit in the Russian Premier League, when a fan in the stands has been offering him a banana.

«It’s not about the country. And not about the city. Eventually, during my time at Real Madrid I have experienced racist attacks in Barcelona and Zaragoza. The same happened with Samuel Eto’O. I have been discussing it later with Blatter and Platini. Actually, there are enough clubs in the world besides Zenit at whose stadiums such things occur. And still I have been playing in Spain for many years!

«Therefore, I do not blame Zenit. Every city may have one idiot who wants to be shown on TV and become famous in such a perverse way. Maybe, he has some problems in his private life and tries to vent it out at the stadium by offending the players.»
