Arshavin escapes unhurt from a road accident in Saint-Petersburg

Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Andrey Arshavin was involved in a traffic accident on Thursday, but escaped without any injuries.

According to a report in local newspaper Fontanka, the Russia captain Arshavin’s BMW collided with another car on a road in Saint-Petersburg, but no one was injured.

Later the Arsenal-owned midfielder gave his comment about the episode on his personal website:

«To avoid the unnecessary gossip, I ‘d like to give a statement. It is true that I was involved in an accident today, but I am OK and no one got hurt. What did I remember from the episode? A tram driver gave me a grapefruit as he was passing by,» Arshavin stated.
