Zoran Tosic: We lost to the best team in the world

CSKA Moscow midfielder Zoran Tosic, who scored their only goal in the Champions League play-off defeat against Real Madrid, spoke about the key moments of the match in an interview to Gazeta.ru.

«We really wanted to go through and put on a good performance, but a series of mistakes cost us the game. We had several chances that we could not convert. We were playing against the best side in the world, but we did not fear them, especially after the draw in Moscow,» the Serbian midfielder stated.

«We had a very good second half and should have scored at 1-0. We tried to equalise, but the second goal broke us. I was ecstatic after getting a goal back and my first thought was that we can get back into this. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Would it have been easier if they didn’t have Ronaldo? Perhaps, he is a big part of the Madrid team, but they have other strengths, they are a superclub,» Tosic admitted.
