The Guardian: Arsenal closing in on German striker Podolski

Cologne striker Lukas Podolski, reportedly a target for a host of Russian clubs, has agreed a move to English Premier League side Arsenal, the Guardian claims.

According to the newspaper report, the Gunners will splash out £11 million for the German forward. His four-year contract will reportedly be worth around £100 000 a week.

The Germany international has been linked with a move to CSKA, Zenit and Lokomotiv Moscow, with the latter accusing the German club of sabotaging the transfer negotiations this winter.
