Marc Crosas: Volga management kept making promises, but didn’t pay our salaries

Ex-Volga midfielder Marc Crosas, currently at Mexican club Santos Laguna, accused his former club of not paying his and other players’ wages on time.

«I moved to Russia to play regular first-team football, as I didn’t see much action at Celtic. The Volga move was risky, it was a step back for me, but I wanted to play,» the former Celtic player admitted.

«Did I get paid well? You know, Volga had some financial problems. They weren’t honest with us: they kept promising to pay the next day, but for five months nothing happened. One time our physio even asked to borrow some money from me, as he couldn’t pay his rent. Other than that, things were OK. I performed well and got an offer from the Mexican club,» the Spaniard added.
