Brave CSKA fight back to secure a draw against Real Madrid in Moscow
CSKA Moscow fought back from a goal down with a last-minute equaliser to earn a precious home draw against the formidable Real Madrid in the Champions League 1/8 final.
The home side started brightly, but they were undone by former United man Cristiano Ronaldo, who popped up on the right to lash the ball in the net after a failed clearance.
The Galacticos were cruising to victory, despite the constant nuisance that was Seydu Doumbia, constantly keeping their defenders under pressure.
However, on the third added minute of extra-time the Russians brought the game level. Vasily Berezutsky knocked Dzagoev’s ball into the path of Wernbloom, and the Swedish midfielder scored a crucial goal on his debut for CSKA.
