Anzhi win the fight for Russian Under-21 talent Shatov

Anzhi Makhachkala fought off the challenge from CSKA Moscow for the signature of talented Russia Under-21 midfielder Oleg Shatov.

The player will move to Dagestan from the first division outfit Ural, despite spending several days training with another top-flight club, CSKA Moscow.

«I am really happy to get this chance to play at a new, higher level. As you know, I had an offer from another club, but I chose to come to Anzhi. The main reason is that I want to be part of this ambitious project, that sets its sights so high,» the youngster, who signed a four-year deal, told RIA Novosti.

«Secondly, I look forward to working with our manager Yury Krasnozhan, who is known for his ability to handle young players,» he added.
