Zenit could turn to AS Roma’s Pizarro, if Glushakov deal falls through

Zenit St. Petersburg’s failure to sign Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Denis Glushakov could pave way for Roma frontman Claudio Pizarro to join the Russian champions.

According to the Russian website Bobsoccer.ru, there has been little progress in the negotiations with the Railwaymen, who are reluctant to part with the Russia international, so Zenit are exploring alternative options.

One of coach’s Luciano Spalletti’s preferred targets is the 33-year-old Peruvian, who was close to signing for Zenit last winter, but the two sides failed to agree on a deal.
