Kuban are chasing Maritimo forward Baba Diawara

The 23-year-old forward of Maritimo Baba Diawara has become a transfer target for Kuban Krasnodar. The Russian Premier League club intend to sign the Senegalese and eliminate possible squad problems, which may arise in case of a possible departure of their Ivorian striker Lacina Traore, A Bola reported.

According to the Portuguese newspaper, Baba’s current club are ready to hold negotiations with Kuban. However, the Russians haven’t made an official offer to Maritimo yet.

Last season Baba Diawara took part in 29 matches of the Portuguese league, scoring 11 goals.

It’s worth noted that earlier reports claimed that Kuban are close to the signing of another player from Liga Zon Sagres – Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Rui Miguel.
