Pavel Pogrebnyak’s agent: My client feels quite happy at Stuttgart

The agent of Stuttgart forward Pavel Pogrebnyak, Oleg Artemov, has revealed that his client may honor the contract with the German club until the end.

«In Germany they are now discussing Pavel’s statement about his desire to leave the club.»

«Actually, it’s all just noise out of nothing. Some journalists just like to present information in their own way, attributing words to the people they are talking to. But if there is any hype around the player, it means, he is in demand. Pavel feels quite happy with everything at Stuttgart.

«Can you clear up the situation with Stuttgart?

«Nothing has changed. Pavel has one more year leaft on his contract. Usually in this case the club would begin talks about its renewal or the player’s sale, but Stuttgart keeps silent. I may well imaging a situation when Pavel fulfils his contract with Stuttgart until the end and moves to another team as a free agent. Any option is possible.»

«Newspapers have been writing about a ‘clearance sale’ of Stuttgart’s highly paid players and leaders, but the club hasn’t made any statements yet.»

«I’ve also heard about it, but only from newspapers. If the club had any opinion on Pogrebnyak, perhaps, we would be already informed about it. But he passed a pre-season medical examination yesterday, started training with other guys. Everything goes as usual.»

«England’s Sunderland have been mentioned most often in the news. Can this club be regarded as the main candidate for Pogrebnyak?»

«It is one of clubs who approached us concerning Pavel. Besides them, there are some other teams from England and Germany, who contact me from time to time, testing the waters for possible cooperation. So we just call each other and talk. But nothing of that went as far as some negotiations between the clubs.

«Pogrebnyak has proved in Germany that is a skilled football player. It would be interesting for me to watch him play in the English league. But it’s all up to the player. Anyway, one thing I can tell you for sure: Pavel will not remain without a decent team,» stated the agent in an interview with Sovetsky Sport.
