Khimki announce signing of Timofey Mozgov and Chris Quinn, release Travis Hansen
At the specially convened press conference BC Khimki have officially announced the signing of the contract with the Russian national team center Timofey Mozgov, according to Sport-Express. The agreement with the Denver Nuggets player will be in effect until the lockout ends in the NBA. Mozgov has been playing for the club from Moscow Oblast between 2006 and 2010.
Another newcomer to the Russian club is Chris Quinn, former point guard of the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs.
General director of Khimki Victor Bychkov has confirmed the signing of Quinn for one season talking to the reporter of Sports.ru. «Quinn has has spent his whole life in the United States. Sometimes it causes problems when the player moves to Europe, but Quinn is too experienced to expect that,» Bychkov stated.
Yet another American player will leave the club. According to Championat.com, directors of Khimki decided not to renew their deal with defender Travis Hansen.
The Utah-born player, who holds Russian citizenship, spent last season with Khimki after joining them from Real Madrid, played 29 matches and scored an average of 5.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
