Volga sues its own players Salukvadze and Gogua
Russian outfit Volga Nizhniy Novgorod has taken court action against two of its own footballers: Georgian defender Lasha Salukvadze and midfielder Gogita Gogua.
The RPL club is demanding that the players return the bonuses they received from the financially troubled club. Volga is claiming that the players need to present a tax report to the authorities.
Meanwhile, the Georgian footballers, who received the belated wages after making a complaint to the Russian FA, insist that they are under no obligation to reveal how they spend their earnings.
This case could form a legal precedent for a football club suing its own team members without going to the football authorities first.
