SkySports: Pogrebnyak undergoes medical at Fulham
Stuttgart’s Russia international striker Pavel Pogrebnyak has reportedly undergone a medical at Fulham, though his agent insists the Cottagers are not the only club having talks with his client.
According to SkySports, the former Zenit St. Petersburg forward will be put through a series of physical tests ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
The 28-year-old is out of contract with Stuttgart at the end of the season and appears to have been identified by manager Martin Jol as somebody who could strengthen Fulham’s attacking force.
«We are holding negotiations with a number of clubs, including several English sides. Has he had a medical yet? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves,» the player’s agent Oleg Artemov told Russian newspaper Sovetsky sport.
According to the report, the striker has agreed in principle to join the Cottagers and the London side are now finalising details of a six-month loan with the Bundesliga outfit.
Earlier there were reports linking the striker with a move to WBA, but the Baggies manager Roy Hodgson denied any interest in the player.
