Hello everyone who's reading this post!

You're either registered on sports.ru or just came up by accident. It doesn't really matter how you'd get here.

Here we write texts about F1/ other auto/moto in English. If you are native English speaker, you'll probably find nothing really interesting for you, because most of the posts will be written by non-native English speakers like me. But you can help us with our language style, fix our mistakes... it's up to you.

You can also write here for us and there's one firm condition:

  • write here YOUR texts

We don't want to see here news in English.

We also don't care about professional bloggers' posts (unless you are one of them and you want us to know you).

We want to see English texts about F1 which were written for us. Plus, I think it would be also good if you'll be copying your posts from services like blogspot.com of livejournal.com. It's entirely up to you.

I want to make it clear: we need to have only your posts here. If you found some interesting post while browsing internet, this is not a place for it. But if you post something on blogspot.com and there are no attention - try to find it here!

Now to unsure non-native English speakers. You're free to write comments in any language, but, of course, English would be the most desirable. However, if you don't understand something, write in Russian.

This is an open blog. Everyone can write here posts about F1 and other auto/moto sports in English. I should say it once again: we need to see your texts. No reposts of texts you like, no news, but the texts written by YOU.

Нет такого глагола - unsure. Он - именно ensure. Тем более, что вы же не РАЗуверить их хотите, а именно уверить, успокоить. Однако ensure - убедиться, удостовериться (непереходный), а переходный - assure (убедить, уверить в чём-либо конкретном) и reassure - уверить в общем, приободрить. Пунктуация - это в русском "кошмар". В английском она почти целиком интонационная: есть пауза - есть знак, нет паузы - нет знака. По этой причине перед придаточными вы в общем случае запятой не обнаружите. "here" после дополнения - это "write your texts here", "we don’t want to see news in English here". О, молодец, что normal поправили; вообще то, что русское "нормально" часто означает "OK", есть некое проявление национального характера. :) Я на lang-8 есть и вам со свей ответственностью заявляю, что длинные тексты толком далеко не все готовы проверять. Я, верно, половину очков получил именно на проверках длиннотекстов - native nods так и сыплются по десять на проверку. На коротких-то три получить - уже зер гут. Впрочем, в английской части должно быть больше народу, чем в русской, так что вам должно везти больше. Тем более, что не зная исходного языка (т.е. в данном случае русского) и направления мысли, проверяющие часто не в ту степь исправляют. Вспоминаю, как "он стал молча" переправляли на "он встал молча" и "он молча стоял", а на самом деле-то было "он умолк", а в итальянском оригинале конструкция как в английском "became silent". В общем, вся моя мысль в том, чтобы вы с благосклонностью отнеслись к моим заметкам, чтобы не сказать замечаниям :) PS. I’ve been lurking around here for a long time, around one and a half years, but hadn’t got an incentive to register until now. I’m a Formula and biathlon watcher, yet I like to prize myself on impartiality because I prefer to see people for their merit, not their team, and never wish ill on rival sportsmen - it’s ugly and not good ’sportsfanship’ (by analogy to ’sportsmanship’) at all.

А кто сказал, что я знаю английский как родной? :) Пунктуация - это кошмар, но не проще ли ткнуть меня в какой справочник, чтобы я сама это подучила? Там не ensure, а unsure. Хотя не знаю, что бы я поставила, если бы хотела убедить non-natives в том, что все хорошо. Проверяйте, если хотите. Правда, я все равно их буду на lang-8 забрасывать, но там не всегда проверяют :( P.S. How did you get here? :)
