Russian businessman may buy Portsmouth FC

Russian businessman Vladimir Antonov may become the owner of English football club Portsmouth, according to Sky Sports News sources. He is believed to be coming to London this week in order to finalize the deal with the club’s current owner Balu Chainrai.

According to the Sky Sports News source, Antonov is part of the Convers Sports Initiatives group and he has already passed the Football League’s Fit & Proper Persons test. The value of deal is believed to be £17million, paid over the period of two years.

Vladimir Antonov has been the shareholder of Investbank until recently, when he has sold his 40% share.
