Dikan leaves hospital, will have to wear a protective mask
Spartak Moscow goalkeeper Andrey Dikan, who suffered multiple fractures in his skull and jaws in a clash with Zenit striker Alexander Kerzhakov, left the hospital on Wednesday and will continue the recovery at home.
He will undergo a surgical procedure on his face in Germany in the near future and, according to his doctor, will wear a protective mask when he returns to the pitch.
«Because of the complications caused by the multiple fractures, he will need a titanium plate implanted until his jaw heals,» Spartak medic Mikhail Vartapetov admitted. «He won’t need to wear a protective helmet like Petr Cech, but will need a special mask.»
