Yevgeny Kuznetsov turns down NHL move in favour of staying in Russia
Russian teen star Yevgeny Kuznetsov has announced his decision to remain in the KHL, despite being selected 26th overall in Washington Capitals’ 2010 NHL draft.
The Traktor Chelyabinsk forward did also imply that he has not decided, which KHL club he will be playing for next season.
«To be perfectly honest, I have made my decision – I intend to remain in the KHL. There is, however, no certainty about my future club,» the player admitted, cited by Sport-Express.
Earlier reports indicated that the rising hockey star rejected a one-year contract extension offer from Traktor, thought to be worth $2.5 million, and has also been linked with a move to Salavat Yulaev.
