Agent: Honda will stay at CSKA until the summer, then we’ll see

Kees Ploegsma, the agent of CSKA Moscow Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda, commented on the speculations linking his client with a move to another club.

«In the last year, Lazio was the only team seriously interested in Honda,» Ploegsma confirmed.

«We were not able to transfer this winter, but let’s see what happens in June. Up to that point he remains a player of CSKA,» he added.

Meanwhile, some reports in the Russian press indicate CSKA are trying to renegotiate terms with Honda and are prepared to offer the Japanese star a 50 per cent pay rise to €3m a year.

Honda was in talks to join Lazio in January and a move to Italy only fell through on the final day of the transfer market over a disagreement over the transfer fee.
