FIFA announces plans to investigate match fixing in Russia

FIFA security director Chris Eaton revealed the organization’s plans to investigate reports about match fixing in Russia.

«We have not conducted an official investigation in Russia yet. We realise that the problem exists, but we don’t have any solid proof or facts at the moment, only speculations. I hope that with the personal support of Russian FA president we can analyze and evaluate the situation in the Russian Premier League. FIFA will be following the Russian league closely and will investigate any suspicious activities,» Eaton was quoted as saying by R-Sport.
