Nabokov named NHL Star of the Night after 52nd career shutout

New York Islanders’ goaltender Evgeny Nabokov has been name the Star of the Night in the NHL after helping his team beat the Flyers’ 1-0 and completing a 52nd career shutout, his second of the season.

In the winning match Nabokov made an incredible 45 saves, two of which came in the shootout.

«They were all decent and quality shots. Sometimes you get a rebound, a weird bounce and they go in. That is just the way the game is,» the Russian goalie said after the game.

The second Start of the Night was the Capitals goaltender Tomas Vokoun, while St. Louis left winger David Perrod came third after his double against Ottawa Senators.
