Daniel Carvalho: My words about ‘injections’ at CSKA were misinterpreted

Former CSKA Moscow midfielder Daniel Carvalho rejected accusations, based on his interview, that he was given steroid injections during his time at the Moscow club.

«I think my words were misunderstood, perhaps I didn’t express myself clearly enough. I only said that they gave me some injections, which led me to gain some weight. But I don’t think it was doping, just supplements.

«When I first arrived there, I was very thin. Perhaps those supplements helped me adapt to the Russian game, which is a lot more physical than Brazilian football. Of course, I am talking only about myself, I can’t vouch for other players,» the former Brazil international told Sovetsky sport.
