Cash-strapped Tom Tomsk close to withdrawal from Russian league

Alexander Nikulin, supporter relations manager for the Russian Premier League club Tom Tomsk, revealed that the club is close to the withdrawal from the tournament.

«Ladies and gentlemen! I can assure you that the state of affairs at the club has never been so poor! Taking part in the third round isn’t even a matter of discussion now! There’s a 70 percent probability that we withdraw from the tournament before the final day! There’s nothing left to pledge in order to get a new credit! The club has already squeezed out everything it had,» Nikulin wrote on his page in the Russian social network VKontakte.

Earlier, the club president Yury Stepanov had said that he wasn’t sure the team could survive until the end of the tournament.
