Record: Zenit’s Fernando Meira is close to Zaragoza

The 33-year-old defender of Zenit St. Petersburg Fernando Meira is currently in talks with the Spanish club Zaragoza.

The parties may reach agreement as soon as today. The Portuguese player hasn’t been getting regular first-team football at Zenit and is thought to be have been nurturing the dream to play in Spain for a long time, according to Record.

Meira’s contract with the Russian club expires at the end of 2011.
