Results of traditional tournament in Greece
Greece successfully hosted the Xth International Islam Karimov Kurash tournament held on the 1st of March, 2015.
This event traditionally held in Greece since 2004 was initiated by the European Kurash Confederation and the Greece Kurash federation.
It is dedicated to the Honorary President of the International Kurash Association and the President of the Motherland of Kurash – Uzbekistan His Excellency Mr. Islam Karimov.
The tournament held today gathered players from Europe and Asia representing more than 10 countries, like Greece, Georgia, Serbia, Israel, Germany, Afghanistan, Russia, Cyprus and others.
The event was offering nine thousand USD in prize money and was held in two weight categories among men: under 81 kg and open weight category.
The tournament was attended by the dignitaries from the local municipality and mayor office, the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Greece represented by the Consul General Mr. Olim Kasimov, International Kurash Association and the European Kurash Confederation.
