Russian women’s football club hold match in bikinis
The players of one of the Russia’s major women’s football teams FC Rossiyanka have taken part in an improvized match, wearing nothing but bikinis. Thus the club tried to attract the attention of the public to the club and women’s football in general, said its director Svetlana Zhuravlyova.
«I believe that our players are beautiful and attractive women who are not in any way inferior to well-known tennis players and gymnasts. Unfortunately, today our sport does not have not enough attention from sports officials and governmental support programs. Women’s football does not develop as quickly here as it does in Europe. Because of that we end up with poor performances of our national teams.
«This project is aimed to draw attention to female football and to increase its popularity among the men of our country,» said Zhuravlyova to the club’s official website.
